Buzzy Personal Needle Pain Relief Device

How Does Buzzy Work?

Buzzy confuses your body’s own nerves and distracts attention away from the pain, thereby dulling or eliminating sharp injection pain. In the same way that rubbing a bumped elbow helps, or cool running water soothes a burn.

The Science Behind It

Buzzy works using a concept known as the Gate Control Theory of Pain. In simple terms, the brain can only focus on so many sensations at once. By combining gentle vibration and cooling therapy, Buzzy helps distract the body's attention away from the pain signal caused by a needle.

Think of it like rubbing your elbow after bumping it. The sensation of rubbing helps reduce how strongly you feel the pain. Buzzy uses the same principle, with vibration and cold working together to help make injections, blood tests and other needle procedures more comfortable.

This FDA-cleared drug-free approach is backed by clinical research and is trusted by healthcare professionals and families around the world to help reduce needle pain and anxiety for both children and adults.

Reducing Needle Anxiety

Many families use Buzzy to help create a more positive healthcare experience for children, while adults often use the device to help manage anxiety around injections and blood tests.

Families looking to build confidence around healthcare appointments may also benefit from the Buzzy4Shots Distraction Cards, which use age-appropriate distraction activities to help reduce stress and anxiety during medical procedures.
