FAQs
Your questions answered
When can my baby start using a high chair?
Most babies are ready around 6 months, when they can sit upright with support. This is usually when you start introducing solids. A high chair gives your baby a safe feeding space with the back support, harness, and tray they need at this stage.
What is a floor seat and when should I use one?
A floor seat like the Bumbo is designed for younger babies who need extra support to sit upright. It holds your baby in a stable, ergonomic position at floor level and is great for supported play and early mealtime practice.
What is a booster seat and how is it different from a high chair?
A booster seat attaches to a regular dining chair to bring your toddler up to table height. It is designed for older children who no longer need the full support of a high chair but still need a lift to sit comfortably with the family. Most families use a high chair first and move to a booster seat from around 18 months.
What do I need when starting solids?
A high chair is the most important starting point. From there, a mess mat protects your floor, a waterproof bib protects your baby's clothes, and a divided plate or suction bowl keeps food in place. You do not need everything at once. Start with a chair and a bib and add from there.
How do I make mealtime cleanup faster?
Choose a high chair with a removable tray and wipe-clean surfaces. Put a mess mat under the chair to catch food from the floor. A waterproof bib with a pocket catches the rest. These three things make the biggest difference.
When can my baby start using a drink bottle or sippy cup?
Most babies can start with a soft-spout bottle or open cup from around 6 months. A straw cup is usually introduced from 9 to 12 months. Follow your child's lead and move at their pace.
When does my child need their own lunchbox?
Most children start using a lunchbox when they begin daycare or kindy, usually from around 2 to 3 years old. Look for one that is easy for little hands to open, simple to clean, and the right size for a toddler portion. A good lunchbox makes it easier to send nutritious food and cuts down on single-use packaging.
